Here we have Lisa, the Mother, sitting with the powerful body of Chris the Father.  Their three children, standing, Jackson, Aria between the Mother and Father, and Raven, the smallest; Carol, sitting on the chair besides Raven;  all of it bathed in a soft light. 

The real challenge of this painting was how to make it interesting with 7 figures on the one canvas, each one a unique individual, each one beautiful and interesting, each one a reflection of all

You feel a comfortable, leisurely, relaxed feeling.  The only person who is working there is the black man in the background;  it’s the artist himself.
